Hi! I’m Hayley, and I’m a strategic communications professional living in beautiful Southern California.

For the past decade, I’ve dedicated my career to media, messaging, and narrative change to advance civil rights and social justice, with a clear focus on immigrants’ rights. I have worked for many different organizations both in-house and as a freelance consultant, with projects ranging from federal Supreme Court litigation to organizer-led campaigns at the state and local level in places like California, Tennessee, New York, and Wisconsin.

While my communications skills run the gamut, my fundamental expertise is in media relations. I’ve placed impactful stories in a range of national and local outlets, including the New York Times, Associated Press, NPR and multiple local affiliates, the Los Angeles Times, The Hill, Teen Vogue, NBC, ABC, CBS, Univision, Telemundo, The Intercept, CalMatters, The San Francisco Chronicle, and The Sacramento Bee.

In addition to my advocacy work, I’m also an adjunct professor at the USC Annenberg School for Communication & Journalism, where I’ve taught both undergraduate and graduate-level public relations courses.

I do lots of other things too (with varying degrees of expertise) – I read, I do pottery, and I’m learning metal smithing. I also spend a lot of time with my cat Lola and my dog Emmylou (if you’re sensing music references you’re on the right track).

I look forward to the opportunity to work together!
